The Waterloo Engineering group has taken on the task of building a new user interface for our flagship product. This new interface is a Web 2.0 friendly GUI. We are using AJAX to build a user interface that completely supports the user’s workflow while fitting into the latest products and technologies. It uses asynchronous communication to the appliance to provide the most up to date information at the user’s fingertips. If you are looking for a challenge, this opportunity is it. The team needs to solve some very challenging problems such as utilizing state of the art technology on a custom OS and building a user centered product that focuses on allowing the user to accomplish the task at hand.
Working with the Team manager, Product Management, and user experience design specialists you will work to design the new UI. Then, as part of the team, you will play a key role in implementing the new UI in an agile, quality-focused development environment, incorporating feedback from the usability trials and the beta programs, and supporting the QA and test teams to ensure a successful product launch.
Who Should Apply
We are looking for someone with:
* Advanced object-oriented design and debugging skills
* Exposure to User Experience design
* BSC or Masters in Computer Science or Engineering
* Experience with the Internationalization and Localization of UIs
* Experience with Agile Development methodologies (SCRUM, Test-driven development
The following would be a real plus for the position:
* SCM systems (e.g. Perforce)
* C/C++ experience
* Network experience
